How to fill in a PDF form
- Select the PDF form, or drop it onto the box above.
- If the form has fillable fields, type your answers into the list beside the pages. If it doesn’t, choose Text field, Checkbox, Date or Text on page, then tap the page where it goes.
- Tick Flatten if nobody needs to change the answers later, then download the PDF.
A form made for printing, like a scanned council application or a school excursion note, has no fields to type into. Adding a text field over each blank line lets you fill it on screen and send it back without printing and scanning.
Your files stay on your device
Forms tend to ask for your address, date of birth, tax file number or bank details. This tool opens the PDF and writes your answers into it inside your browser, so neither the form nor what you type is sent to Oppermind or anyone else. The page itself uses cookies, and analytics only if you allow them, as set out in our privacy policy.

Which forms work here?
A PDF with fillable fields shows them in a list beside the pages: text boxes, tick boxes, radio buttons, drop-down lists and option lists. If the PDF has no fields, such as a form made for printing, you can place text fields, tick boxes, dates and plain text on the page yourself.
What does flatten do?
It turns your answers into part of the page instead of fillable fields, so they can’t be retyped in a PDF reader and they show the same way in most PDF apps. It isn’t a lock, though. Someone with a PDF editor can still change a flattened page. Leave it off if someone still needs to fill in the rest of the form.
Why won’t my form open?
It may be an XFA form, an older kind of dynamic PDF form. Those aren’t supported here, so open them in a PDF reader that supports XFA, such as the one the form’s publisher recommends. A password-protected PDF needs a copy saved without the password first.
Can I type in any language?
Answers are written with a standard PDF font that covers English and most Western European letters. Emoji and scripts such as Chinese, Arabic or Hindi can’t be saved into the form here.
Is my form uploaded?
No. The form and your answers stay in your browser on your own device, and Oppermind’s servers never receive either.
