How to sign a PDF
- Select your PDF, or drop it onto the box above.
- Choose Signature, then draw it with a mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of your signature.
- Click on the page where the signature goes. Add initials and the date the same way, on as many pages as the document needs.
- Drag anything you've placed to adjust it, then choose Sign and download.
Using a keyboard
After you choose Signature, Initials or Date, buttons appear for putting it in a corner or the centre of the page you're looking at. Then arrow keys move the selected item (hold Shift for bigger steps), plus and minus change its size and Delete removes it. The Type tab creates a signature without drawing.
Your file stays on your device
Your browser opens the PDF, builds the signature and writes it into the page on your own computer or phone. Neither the document nor your signature is sent to Oppermind or anyone else, and nothing is saved once you close the tab. The page itself uses cookies, and analytics only if you allow them, as set out in our privacy policy.
Questions
What kind of signature does this add?
A simple electronic signature, which is a picture of your signature placed on the page. It isn't a certificate-based digital signature, so the file carries no proof of who signed it and no seal that shows later changes. Whether a signature like this is accepted depends on the document and on the person or organisation receiving it. This is general information, not legal advice. If you're unsure, ask the recipient what they accept.
Are my signature and PDF uploaded?
No. Whether you draw, type or upload it, the signature is made in your browser and added to the PDF on your own device. Oppermind's servers never receive either of them.
Can I sign more than one page?
Yes. Place the same signature, initials or date as many times as you need, on any page.
Can the signature be moved after I download?
The signature is drawn into the page itself rather than added as a separate field, so it can't be dragged around in a PDF reader. It isn't locked, though. Someone with a PDF editor could still move or remove it, and nothing in the file would show that. Keep your unsigned original in case you need to sign it again.
Is it free?
Yes. There's no account, no card and no watermark on the file you download.
