How to watermark a PDF
- Pick the PDF to watermark with Select PDF file, or drop it on the box above.
- Type the watermark text, or switch to Image and choose a PNG or JPG of your logo.
- Adjust the size, colour, opacity and angle, and pick Centre for one mark per page or Tiled to repeat it across the page. The preview updates as you go.
- Choose Add watermark, then download the file.
Your file stays on your device
Your browser draws the watermark onto the pages on your own computer or phone. Neither the PDF nor your logo is sent to Oppermind, so a draft contract you’re stamping CONFIDENTIAL never leaves your machine. Closing the tab discards both. Questions
Can I use my logo as the watermark?
Yes. Switch to Image and choose a PNG or JPG. A PNG with a transparent background keeps its transparency, which usually looks cleaner than a JPG with a white box around the logo.
Can someone remove the watermark?
Yes, with a PDF editor. The watermark is drawn into each page, so a reader can’t hide it the way they could a note or a layer, but someone editing the file can still select and delete it. Treat it as a label on the document and don’t rely on it for protection.
Which characters can a text watermark use?
The built-in font covers English and Western European letters, including accents, plus numbers and common symbols. Other scripts such as Chinese, Arabic or emoji can’t be drawn with it. Make an image of the text and use an image watermark instead.
Does it work on landscape or rotated pages?
Yes. The watermark is placed on each page as it looks when the file is opened, so the angle and centre are the same on portrait, landscape and rotated pages.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF and any logo you add are read by your browser and the watermark is added on your own device. Oppermind’s servers never receive them.
