Questions

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about the Academy and the workspace. The docs go deeper on every feature.

The Academy

Is the Academy free?

Yes. Every lesson, final assessment, certificate and badge in the Academy is free, and none of them needs an Oppermind account. To practise in the workspace itself, you sign in to Oppermind.

Browse the Academy

Do I need an account to take a lesson?

No. Lessons open in your browser without signing in. Your progress is kept in that browser only, so it does not follow you to another device or a private window.

Do I need an account to get a certificate?

No. Pass the final assessment, enter the name you want printed (2 to 80 characters) and click Create certificate. Do it straight away, because if you leave or reload the page you need to pass the assessment again.

What does it take to pass the final assessment?

Every answer has to be correct. If one is wrong, you see how many you got right, and you can review the lessons and try again as often as you like.

How is a certificate verified?

Each certificate has its own link. When anyone opens it, the Oppermind server checks the link's signature, then the page shows the name, course, issue date and certificate ID. A link that has been altered shows Certificate unavailable instead.

What if I lose my certificate link?

Keep the link somewhere safe, because the link is the certificate. Certificates are not saved to an account, so a lost link cannot be looked up. You can pass the course again to create a new certificate.

Can I print or share my certificate?

Yes. Print / Save PDF prints it or saves it as a PDF. Share on LinkedIn, Share on Facebook and Share on X share a preview card with your name, badge and course, and Copy certificate link copies the share link.

What is the course badge?

Each course has its own badge, for example AI Ready for Your first useful result in Oppermind. The badge shows a level (Foundations, Practitioner, Specialist or Developer), and the certificate page has Download badge (SVG), Share on LinkedIn, Share on X and Copy badge link.

Is the certificate accredited?

No. It is a certificate of completion from Oppermind Academy, showing that you passed a course's final assessment. It is not a formal qualification, it is not accredited by any education or industry body, and it carries no academic credit.

Who can see the name on my certificate?

Anyone who has the certificate link, including people who see it when you share it. Enter the name as you are happy for others to see it.

Which course should I start with?

Start with Your first useful result in Oppermind, a five-minute quickstart, then take Oppermind foundations: from prompt to finished work. After that, pick the role path that matches your job from the Academy home page.

Getting started in Oppermind

How do I start a new chat, and where do old ones go?

Click New session in the left sidebar. Past chats are listed under Recent chats, where right-clicking one offers Rename, Duplicate, Share and Delete.

Quickstart

How do I find an old conversation?

Type in Filter sessions in the sidebar. It matches titles straight away and, after two characters, text inside messages too. When you are not typing in a box, press / to search the text of all your past conversations.

How do I get Lato to change the file I have open?

Click inside that editor. The message box then shows an editing chip with the file's name, and your next request changes that file. Click the × on the chip to go back to plain chat.

Chat with open editors

How do I stop a reply?

Click the stop button that replaces send while a reply is being written, or press Ctrl or Cmd + Enter to stop it and send what you have typed. Esc does not stop a reply.

Which chat mode should I use?

Leave it on Auto for most work. Pick Workspace Agent 2.0 for bigger jobs that should land in editors, Code agent for multi-file web projects, Browser operator to operate a website and Desktop co-pilot to work on your paired PC.

Chat modes and reasoning effort

Where are the files Lato made?

In Doc Manager. Open it from the files button in the chat header once the chat has files, from the sidebar or from the New editor menu. Open full Doc Manager shows files from all your chats.

Doc Manager

Do my changes save by themselves?

In most editors, yes. Document and Sheet save 2.5 seconds after a change, Notes 2 seconds after you stop typing and Design 5 seconds after a change. The status bar shows Unsaved or Saving, then Saved.

Can I export to Word, Excel or PowerPoint?

Yes. Document has Export Doc (.docx), Sheet has Export XLSX and Slides has Export PPTX, and Slides can also import a .pptx file. In the PDF editor, Download PDF saves the PDF with your annotations. Open the exported file to check it, because not every feature carries over.

Can I share a file with a colleague?

Yes, once it is saved. Click Share on the editor toolbar and add people by email as Can view or Can edit. Sharing by email depends on your plan. People you add for the first time get an email invite, and in Document, Sheet, Slides, Design and Project, people with Can edit can edit alongside you while you both have it open.

Share and collaborate

How do I undo something Lato changed?

In the Document editor, Ctrl or Cmd + Z also undoes AI edits. Document, Sheet, Slides and Code have Version history too, where Snapshot now saves a version and Restore goes back to one.

Can Lato work on my computer?

Yes, on Windows. Install Oppermind Desktop from Settings, Apps and extensions, choose This computer and then Authorize in the Desktop co-pilot panel, and switch to the Desktop co-pilot mode. There is no Mac app, so on a Mac use Oppermind in your browser.

Desktop Agent and Desktop co-pilot

Does Lato remember me between chats?

Yes, while Long-term memory is on in Settings, Memory. It is on unless you turn it off. That tab shows what is remembered and has Forget everything. To store one thing, right-click a message and choose Save to memory.
